Not Urgent But Important — Spoken Thoughts x Ambient Soundscape
E NanOn Urgency, Presence and the Choice to Slow Down
In a world driven by urgency, we often confuse what’s pressing with what truly matters. This short voiceover — embedded in our new short film — reflects on the tension between constant motion and quiet presence. It’s a reminder to pause, to zoom out, and to rediscover the overlooked beauty of life. What follows is the unedited transcript — shared as it was spoken — as an invitation to read, listen and watch our short film "Not urgent but important".
Full Transcript — Not Urgent But Important
We're so busy.
Always on the run.
We feel so important.
Everything is always urgent:
Our work. Projects. Deadlines. Goals. Reaching the next level. Making it.
But those two — urgency and importance — are very different.
Urgency is perceived importance, oftentimes meaningless tasks piled up, choking us, blurring our vision. It's all we see when we run around like tiny worker ants, carrying out orders without ever asking a simple question:
"Why?".
We are so zoomed in, constantly hyper-focusing on the very next thing ahead of us.
We are not able to see the big picture.
We disregard the little things that take place around us in each moment.
We lose touch.
We discount the beauty of life, become numb and blind.
Slowly floating white clouds, the blue sky as their canvas, watching the full moon rise, or the sun set, listening to the birds, sharing time with someone you love.
None of that is urgent.
But all of it is important.
So, rather than sprinting through life in a straight tunnel, take your time and examine life via peripheral vision.
Pick up the lost parts along the way — the parts that make you whole.
And share what you have learned along the journey — about the difference between urgency and importance.
