S003 | My Transition From Conventional to Wild and Naturally Farmed Tea

The starting moment

Seven years ago when I still lived in Berlin, one day I visited a local Taiwanese tea room for work, and an Austrian served me a cup of lightly fermented Taiwanese Jin Xuan tea. I can still remember the moment I drank it - as if I had been struck by an electric shock. And for me who had achieved so called success in the society at that time, but whose heart was extremely empty and who didn't know what was going on, the tea touched a certain unknown deep place in my heart. It gave me the feeling of being alive. After that day, I bought some simple tea sets and started to brew tea at home. Because I wanted to find that touch again.

Tea in silence

My exploration of tea has been a journey of silence, of excessive solitude with myself, of finding my own way in the darkness, and of gradually opening up all my senses. Awareness are my eyes, teaching me to recognize all the happenings and movements in tea.

In the beginning, I started with conventional tea, not knowing what was good or bad quality, but only noticing many signs and phenomena. I tried to find answers from the gradually accumulated knowledge and taste buds map on my own.

As my awareness expanded, I slowly noticed that after drinking tea, the bitterness and sweetness on my tongue would not dissolve, I would sense my throat being irritated or I would feel tightness in my chest. Sometimes my head felt tensed, and it could even be very upsetting to my stomach. I always thought that I did not brew the tea well and made the tea too stimulating.

The turning point

After three years of exploring in solitude in Berlin, I met my tea teacher who guided me to go deeper into my inner self and he also introduced me to Buddhism. Once I drank his wild farming tea, all the discomfort that I would usually feel remained absent. I even felt deep relief, a flow of energy, and a sense of openness.

After that, I began to explore wild and naturally farmed tea. It has become my second teacher. It taught me to eat healthier, as my body gradually changed and became very sensitive to chemical additives. I now can only take unprocessed foods and pesticide-free ingredients without my body sending any alarm signals.

It also taught me to observe the seasons, to re-learn the laws of universe, and to replace ego-satisfaction with an awareness of the coexistence of all beings.

Now looking back, the pure and rich energy of wild and naturally farmed tea helped me to accelerate the detoxification of my body. With sharpened senses, we can naturally recognize when something is right or wrong, and when we should or should not continue to do something.

The true flavor

Life itself has become an interesting experiment, oscillating and harmonizing between comfort and discomfort. After three or four years, my body, mind and spirit have been regulated by nature's energy to become a different person.

Everyone's tea path is different. All in all, in addition to the unique taste of wild and naturally farmed tea, it has a subtle impact on body and mind, no matter whether you notice it or not. And most importantly, the tea is healthy and clean to drink - free of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.

Realizing the way of existence is perhaps the most beautiful thing about drinking clean tea for me. I learned that unity is the true source of happiness and the flavor of wild and naturally farmed tea.

This is why I would like to share with you.
